Mother’s Day is this weekend so I made up a quick batch of gift tags that will hopefully inspire you to make your own!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.
The basic supplies I gathered were a piece of white cardstock, two stencils (Jungle Vines and Galaxy), Light & Fluffy modeling paste and a few colors of the heavy body acrylic paint.
I started off by stenciling Kale Smoothie paint through the Jungle Vines stencil. I then added modeling paste through the Galaxy stencil.
More color was added by rubbing a Neocolor2 water soluble crayon across the dried modeling paste and then adding water with a paint brush to spread the color around.
Drips in yellow, green and blue were added in different directions so as to catch on all of the texture. I then drybrushed a bit of white acrylic paint over the texture. The final color was to splash pink paint onto the page and then spray with water to make the paint bleed a bit.
Just a note: I did paint the back of the cardstock with some of the colors I used on the front. It is not a necessary step but I had made a mess of the back with paint splatters, so I added more paint to even it out!
The next step in making the tags was to cut the 8.5×11 card stock into smaller pieces. I cut it up into a variety of sizes to have options for different size gifts.
I then used a variety of paper punches to add some fun elements on some of the tags.
Bits of ribbon and string were added to each top so I could tie the gift tags onto bags and wrapped presents. These gift tags would be great if you are giving out goodies bags at an event or just pick one for this year’s Mother’s Day treat!
