Hello all, Nancy here. Welcome to this tutorial featuring a lovely face and rich background to create a mixed media piece.
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
Supplies Used:
12″ x 12″ Aztec Queen stencil TCW647
12″ x 12″ Rustic Portal stencil TCW629
masking tape
140 lb watercolor paper
acrylic paint: mustard yellow, aqua, citron, black
sponge brushes and spouncers
baby wipes
polka dot tissue and paper
matte medium
Staz-On ink: black
************************************
Apply a wash of mustard yellow acrylic paint to watercolor paper and blend with baby wipe.
Position Rustic Portal stencil and secure with masking tape. Using spouncer and a light application of paint, add aqua, citron and mustard paint to the stencil. Work in a circular motion.
Position and secure Aztec Queen stencil to left side of the background, mask off earring with tape and fill in with black acrylic. Clean off stencil, then flip and position on right side a little lower down on the background. Fill in with acrylic paint.
Add torn pieces of polka dot tissue paper, adhering with matte medium.
Adhere torn polka dot paper and then finish off piece with an application of black Staz-On ink to the edges.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and I thank you for visiting.
