Rejoice Canvas

Kim Schofield Rejoice The Crafters Workshop TCW2153

Hello friends! Kim here today to share some brand new Crafters Workshop product and a new project!

Today’s project features the new Rejoice stencil (TCW2153) along with two of the new mediums, Gold Gesso and the Light and Fluffy (it really is!) Modeling Paste.

This was a really easy project to create…come with me to see how this was created!

I first created the main Rejoice image by layering book text, using matte medium glue, on top of a piece of chipboard. Once the glue was fully dried, I watered down gesso and applied a wash over the piece to push the text into the background. I also added the tiniest hint of gold gesso (seriously, GOLD gesso, what could be better!!) on the edges of the chipboard piece.

Next, I grabbed the Rejoice stencil and the light and fluffy modeling paste, applied the paste with a pallet knife, through the stencil, and on top of the text paper.

Just fit the stencil back over the dry paste, it will pop right back on, hold the stencil in place with painter’s tape, and use a blending tool to apply the Distress Ink. The paste takes the color great and the Distress Inks blend beautifully.

Once the main section was finished, I got to work on a canvas. I used a 9″x 12″ canvas board, which is a great product to have on hand. I used Distress Ink to paint the edges, and then added stamping to the edges using a Wendy Vecchi background stamp and some Archival Ink.

Kim Schofield Rejoice The Crafters Workshop TCW2153I’m so digging the blue stripes on the blue paint…I may add this to every art project from here on out! And because I can’t live without a little bit neutral color on every project, I used the Believe Script stencil and black Archival Ink to add a more design around the frame. To finish up my piece, I glued the Rejoice panel onto the canvas, using a very heavy duty double sided tape, and added some tiny pearls around the entire piece. I also mounted the main panel on a piece of black cardstock before I glued it to the canvas. Here’s the finished piece!

Happy Crafting!
