Hi there to all you creatives!
I started off by priming my black Dylusions journal with a mix of 3 DecoArts Americana paints ( Warm White, Electric Pink & Fiery red *neon* ). After ‘hitting’ it with my heat tool, I stamped my page with a Carabelle XXL alphabet stamp and Archival Ink(cactus flower).
Using a black permanent marker I traced a few faces from Julie’s “many faces” stencil…..that is the first step to creating my quirky girls.
For the bodies I am masking off the background with Dina’s “Sally & Carly” stencil and with a make-up sponge I added some Americana Bahama Blue paint. To create a bit more depth, go back in with a your stencils and a second(slightly darker) colour (in my instance I used DecoArts Media Cobalt Turquoise Hue to create the illusion of a few background figures).
Outline your main figures with a stabilo all pencil and “activate” the lines with a waterbrush and fade it out. Spatter some paint onto your page(I used white and turquoise) and if some of it ‘lands’ on the faces, just wipe it away with a baby wipe.
On the bottom of the page I stamped these cute “vintage homes” (stamps by Joy Crafts) with black Stazon ink. (if you are scared of stamping on your girls, you can always mask off the figures with the stencils). With a white sharpie I added some highlights and doodles. With a black pilot permaball pen I did some journaling along the silhouettes. I also added some ‘Sizzling Pink’ paint to the girls cheeks , ‘Bahama Blue’ to the eyes and ‘Peaches and Cream’ to create some skin tones.
To finish it off I added a few heart embellishments….and “taa-daaa”! Your quirky girl journal spread is finished.
