A tutorial for you today, on how I altered a cigar box, which will hold cards made with TCW stencils as a gift. I like the size of this cigar box, as the size is perfect for cards; as if it’s made for that 🙂
*****
So, here we go!
Cover the box with 2 coats of white gesso. Leave to dry, and sand it  in between the layers.
Add some cut up lace and cheesecloth randomly to the top of the box with decoupage glue. Leave to dry thoroughly.
Through 2 stencils – add structure paste to cover the whole surface, as shown.
Leave to dry thoroughly.
Sprinkle some Nuance powders onto the surface, spray water onto it; add more powder and water until you’re satisfied.
The finished box…
…and a close-up – gorgeous structure and highlights.
Go get out your stencils and give this a try..
