Hi there Crafter’s Workshop fans! Amy Prior here today with you all with my first official TCW Design Team Post eekkkk!!! So today I have a couple of scrapbook layouts to share with you all, both using the TCW195 Brocade Stencil in the 12×12 size. Scroll through the layouts to find a quick little video for you all showing how i clean my stencils without leaving my desk!
This first mixed media scrapbook layout, titled “Wishing that everyday was a flying fox fun-day”, was created on some white super thick Bazzil Cardshoppe Card-stock. This card-stock is perfect for your mixed media scrapbook layouts as it can handle great puddles of water etc. without piling or major warping. On this layout, I have sprayed the entire card-stock with water to create puddles before dribbling in various coloured paints. For this layout I have used paints from Shimmerz Inklingz range on the background.
When the puddles are dry, I have added some stencilling over the top of the colour using the Crafter’s Workshop TCW195 Brocade Stencil along with some Shimmerz Dazzlerz paint. I had envisioned this gorgeous style of the layout before I had started so I knew that I wanted the Brocade Stencil to show half on either side of my layout. On the left side, I have a larger half showing as this side has the 3 photographs whereas the other side only has one. Once the background was dry and complete, the rest of the layout fell together easily with lots of gorgeous layers of papers flowers and chipboard, plus the long-winded title.
The next layout that I have to share with you all is titled, “Sweet Beautiful Cutie”, and is again created on a white Bazzil Cardshopper Card-stock background as well as using the Brocade Stencil again in 12×12 size. For this background, I have added some Shimmerz Texturez paints through the Crafter’s Workshop Brocade Stencil before drying with a heat tool and allowing the paint to bubble and boil. I love the extra texture you get when heat drying texture paste and making it bubble.
When the stencilled pattern was completely dry, I have sprayed lots of water on the background, like before, to create a puddle. Once sprayed, I have quickly spritzed some Distress Stain Spray over the entire background before adding some little sprinkles of Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals powder. This gorgeous powder is very unique as it has a purple pigment but a turquoise coloured glimmer. I just love how this reacted on the background with the water and the Distress Stain Spray.
This gorgeous, bright and fun mixed media layout then came together nicely using lots of gorgeous vintage looking papers that were thrown into layers of bright and vibrant colourful papers. These colourful papers were coloured using the same paints as the background to help bring that bold colour into the layers perfectly. Lots of gorgeous flowers and embellishments finished off this layout beautifully.
Finally I have a quick video to share with you all that shows my super lazy way of cleaning stencils without ever leaving your desk. In saying that, if you do not keep paper towel and baby wipes handy, then you may have to leave your desk to try this out. But I promise it works so great especially for retreats and crop days with friends. Be sure to clean your stencils quickly after using them to avoid getting any clogged up paint jeopardising the gorgeous patterns for future uses.
The mixed media scrapbook pages featured in this blog post were created using the Crafter’s Workshop Brocade Stencil TCW195 in the 12×12 size.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope that I have inspired you all to get creative with your stencils! Until next time, happy scrapping!
