Hi everyone, Beck BT here today sharing with you a fun background I created with the help of The crafter’s Workshop stencils. Although I was going for a fun and colorful layout I still wanted to add a little grunge and the stencils were just perfect for this.
I used the following stencils to create this layout:
TCW 456 – Coffee Splotch & TCW457 Gothic Romance
I used the distressed circles with coloured texture paste to accent previously added stamping and paint. I love how the raised circle against the flat area gives that added texture
Although a rather bright and cheery page I wanted to add a little grunge. So instead of stencilling with thicker mediums such as texture paste, impasto or gel medium I chose to just use some paints. In this case I used DecoArt Gloss enamels through the top left portion of the gothic romance stencil for some grungy patterning.
I would love to hear how you enjoy layering your stencilling and also how you give different textures with them to your pages, so please leave a comment to let me know how I might have inspired you to add some stencilling in various ways to your project.
Happy Creating!

Thanks so much Sarinda! so nice to have inspired you today xx
Brilliant lots of lovely texture and designs and colours. I did use this in mind layering stencils on my latest calendar page, but went back to basics using just ink.
Can’t wait to see you giving it a try then dawn! Share with us on our FB page, would LOVE to see what you do!
