Hi! Tami Sanders here today with a decor project for Thanksgiving.
The leaves were first embossed on a light-weight kraft cardstock, then spritzed using ColorBox Spritzers in Lemon Drop and Pumpkin Pie. For a little shimmer, they were also spritzed in a few spots using Spun Sugar Smooch Spritz.
After the leaves dried, they were cut out and the embossed areas were inked using Mudslide ColorBox Archival Dye Ink. The edges of all the leaves were distressed using the same ink as well…
The book was opened to the center and pressed down to “crack” the spine and help the book lay flatter. Each half was glued to the covers. The right hand page was carefully pulled loose from the spine and then the center of the page was torn out to make room for the sentiment. The loose page as well as the left hand page were inked around the edges using Mudslide Dye Ink and Harvest ColorBox Chalk Ink. The page at the right – once the loose page had been removed – was inked at the center with Harvest Chalk Ink. The left hand page was also inked at the center using Harvest Ink. The sentiment was added using TC47 Perky Letters and a brown pen…
After tracing the torn out center of the page onto chipboard, the page was adhered to the chipboard and mounted back in the book using 3D squares. Then the leaves were slightly crumpled, arranged and then adhered to the book. A raffia bow finishes off the piece.
