Karen here sharing a Christmas tag album that I created using TCW stencils, manila tags and inks. I love how this came together. This particular album is perfect for my 2014 Christmas pics.
Using various stencils adds a lot of interest and versatility to your projects. I used the Netting (TCW484s), XOXO (TCW 491s), Sketch Grid (TCW456s), and Christmas Tree Frags (TCW2045) TCW stencils to create the background for the tags. I used 6 manila tags and 2 pieces of tag shaped chipboard as the base for the album. Below, I share how I created the backgrounds.
Step One: Lay TCW484 Netting stencil on top of manila tags and spray inks randomly. I used Dylusions Ink colors: Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange, and Cut Grass.
Step Two: Lay manila tags on top of inked stencil to absorb loose ink on the surface of the stencil. The result is a reversed image. This also provides additional tags to work with throughout your project.
Step Three: Lay XOXO (TCW491) and Christmas Tree Frags (TCW2045) stencils on top of manila tags and spray inks randomly. I used Postbox Red ink by Dylusions. Add chipboard to the chosen inked patterns and adhere. Embellish as desired.
Creating tags with stencils are a lot of fun and can be extremely quick. I love how my stencils that I chose to use weren’t all Holiday themed. I gravitated more to the color of ink choices to tie in with the Christmas theme. This also extended the use of my collection of stencils.
