Hello! Tami Sanders here to share an idea with you for adding a custom touch to your craft storage or school supplies.
When I saw the TCW280 Blazonry stencil, I thought it would be great to use to add word-art to a project. it just needed to be used with the designs running horizontal…
I had recently picked up a new 12 X 12 plastic zipper tote to carry finished layouts home from crops or retreats — it was nice but PLAIN! I thought it would be perfect to try out my word-art idea on.
I taped the stencil to the front of the tote using blue painters tape, then outlined the shapes using a dark grey Sharpie. Then, with the stencil still in place, I used different colors of Sharpies to add words, adjusting the height and width of the letters to fit in the ovals.
Here is a pic of the finished project…
and here is a closeup pic of the word-art…
To finish off the tote, I added borders along the top and bottom using designs from the TCW396 Arrows and Hearts stencil…
You could use the same technique to customize a canvas tote, t-shirt, wood or paper mache’ box or anything you wanted to make just a bit more personal! Use the 6 X 6 size and a finer pen for smaller projects.
