Hello Crafters!
Keri Sallee here and I am so excited to be here on The Crafter’s Workshop blog today, sharing with you a mixed media layout I made just for my little man.
I must confess…masculine layouts are hard for me, so when I saw The Crafter’s Workshop’s “Dartboard” Stencil I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do!
I also wanted to use Ronda Palazzari’s Stencil “Spinning Tops.”
Wanna see what I came up with?
I put together a little Snapguide Tutorial to take you step-by-step through the process:
Here are a few close-ups of some of my favorite parts:
First and foremost…I love this picture me and my son. We were doing family pictures and we were trying to get pictures of the 2 of us, but we kept laughing and goofing off. I love to feature single pictures on scrapbook layouts, so I tend to cluster my embellishments around my picture. I like that the curve of my arrow draws the eye in a circular motion (like the dartboard) so your eye takes in everything.
If you watched the Snapguide, you can see that my background is a collage of textures and colors, but it also has hidden words like this “believe” and “love” and “Hope.”
Ronda Palazzari’s “Spinning Top” Stencil (combined with modeling paste and red acrylic paint” make for perfect POPS of color against my black and white background and compliment and contrast well with my accent colors of aqua and orange.
I also added a little white paint to my black foam letters because they seemed a little naked. 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed checking out my project as much as I enjoyed making it for you.
