Hello I’m Karenliz and I’m so excited to be a guest blogger on TCW blog. Thank you Jaime for inviting me!
For those who don’t know me, I love stencils. I think I may be addicted to them or it’s just stencil aliens. I’m not sure yet. I also love to draw faces but mine are ugly, no very scary, but with stencils anyone can create a beautiful portrait.
For this project I used the following: stencils Profile (TCW412), Fancy
Feathers (TCW389), and Mod Spirals (TCW424); 8”x10” piece acrylic paper from my
stash of previously made backgrounds; matte gel medium, black acrylic paint, Dylusions
Spray Inks, and paper flowers.
On a piece of watercolor paper I used white acrylic paint through Mod Spirals stencil and once dried sprayed it with Dylusions inks. To add dimension to the feathers I used matte gel medium through the feather stencil. I love using gel medium because it tries clear and you can see all the colors.
To add more texture to the feathers, I used black spray ink so the colors pop. I cut them out and now they look like this.
For the profile stencil I mixed black acrylic paint and matte gel medium. The gel medum gives a crisp image and you can mix it with any color. Here is my final creation.
I think this may be my favorite profile stencil but I still have to buy and try more. Oh no, see stencil aliens are starting again.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
