It’s Thursday! That must mean it’s time for another stencil hop! Today Julie‘s got three super talented gals for you to visit (plus her wonderful blog):
- Catherine Matthews-Scanlon: Cat and I first met when she was demoing in the EK Success booth at CHA several years ago. She teaches online classes at My Creative Classroom and has written two books: Art from the Heart: Mixed Media Collage and Scrapbooking Techniques: Sewing on Paper.
- Lisa Truesdell, aka “gluestick girl”: Lisa is a “Garden Girl” at Two Peas in a Bucket and a member of the Studio Calico design team. I have long admired her inventive and playful sense of design.
- Dina Wakley: Dina is a stencil maven. She is currently writing an art journaling book and has a line of super cool stamps with Stampington. Her beautiful pages are full of color and energy, paint and stitch.
- Julie Fei-Fan Balzer
These three ladies and Julie Fei-Fan Balzer will be showing off the possibilities of the “Funky Tags” stencil:
This stencil contains six tag designs in two sizes. If you’re thinking that because the stencil comes in 6×6 and 12×12 you can actually get four different sizes of tags, you’d be wrong. 🙂 Julie created the stencil so that the small tags on the 12×12 version are the same size as the big tags on the 6×6 version! Which is kind of cool to play with. Here’s an image comparing the sizes:
Julie is pretty frugal and doesn’t often tell you that you need both sizes of a stencil, but for this one, you might need both sizes. 😉 By the way, Julie made the chart above with watercolor and pen. An easy way to use the stencil!
