Hello everyone!
I am Zoey and today I want to show you how I used the new TCW753 Desert Mirage and the Heavy Body Paint to create this Art Tag with bright colors!
Supplies needed :
- TCW753 Desert Mirage
- TCW488 Stencil Viva La Art
- TCW9020 Raspberry Sorbet Heavy Body Paint 4 0z.
- TCW9017 Lemon Custard Heavy Body Paint 4 0z.
- TCW9013 Iridescent Gold Heavy Body Paint 4 0z.
- TCW9001 White Gesso
- TCW9008 Clear Modeling Paste 8 oz.
Note: I am a Design Team member for The Crafter’s Workshop; however, even though I use and love their products, all opinions are solely my own.
I covered the entire tag with pieces of paper and tissue tape then I applied the gesso with a dry brush and I let it dry.
With my fingers I applied the heavy body paint all over the background. I started first with the pink color and then with the yellow one. I let a bit of the two color to blend and they mixed in this beautiful orange hue. I took the stencil and with the blending tool I applied some ink through the stencil. I love using the blending tool with the stencils because they help me get a perfect result. If you have a heavy hand like mine, I totally suggest you to use the blending tool!
Finally I used another stencil to add a bold sentiment to the tag. I used a palette knife and clear modeling paste. I set aside to dry completely.I did not want to use the heat tool because I wanted a smooth finish. I opted to use the clear modeling paste because I wanted to get a “see-not-see” look. I also used the gold paint to highlight the word ART and to alter a small picture frame. Once it was dry I grabbed my sewing machine and stitched all around the borders. This step helped me to tie everything together and it gave a finished look.
Here’s a couple of photo of the finished project:
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this easy project!

I love the idea of using the clear modeling paste for the “see-not-see” look!! Beautiful!
