Hi there everyone! I can’t believe that 2016 is almost here!
Since it is still December, I really wanted to make another holiday layout.
Inspired by the Christmas tree and lights I chose three different stencils.
I started my using some gold enamel spray paint and the 12×12 ‘Twig and Berries’ stencil onto a piece of vanilla cardstock.
This spray enamel is pretty toxic but the metallic color never disappoints.
I used a matte gel and this 4×4 sequins stencil in a loose diagonal line down the page. It left a cool effect on top of the gold paint.
After the gel had dried, I painted watercolor over the dots which resisted the paint and added another layer of repeating circles.
The last stencil I used over the area I wanted to add my photo to. I used a dark grey stamp ink and sponge dauber to apply the text print to the layout. I wanted to add something in between the two sizes of the large twigs and tiny dots.
I added some patterned paper in a similar color to the watercolor, vellum, stickers and chipboard embellishments to create a cluster over the stenciled word script.
A couple other pieces of paper and the date stamped at the bottom right corner helps balance out the top heavy page.
I love creating a unique background specifically for a photo. It makes the photo all the more special to me. And this photo is definitely special!!
I wish you all an amazing day and happy, healthy New Year!! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
