Happy Monday friends! I’m so excited to share my project with you today. I was super nervous about altering my canvas album…what if it didn’t turn out? But…I didn’t let my nerves get the best of me. I’ve had this adorable canvas album for some time now. I bought it, not only to hold my memory planners, but thinking it would be great to alter with a stencil! Come see how this beauty came together. I promise, it was super simple!

First, I had to decide on which stencil I wanted to use. I knew that I wanted to make flowers…and I have a variety of stencils I could have used, but I absolutely love the TCW811 Floral Statement stencil. It’s so pretty! I did not tape the stencil over the canvas. I decided to hold down the stencil while blending the inks down with my hand.

First, I used a blending brush to blend the Salvaged Patina Distress Ink all over the canvas to make it a light blue color.

Next, I placed the stencil over the canvas and colored in the greenery using the Evergreen bough Distress Oxide ink. These inks are permanent once completely dry because they are a die ink.* So do not worry!

Then, I used the Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet to color in the Rosettes. Make sure you hold the stencil down to prevent the stencil from slipping so that you get a nice crisp image.

After that, I used the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide to color in the blue flowers. I moved the stencil around to fill in that little area towards the bottom right-side of the album.

Finally, I added the finishing touches by gluing down the embellishments.
