Pop of Color with Modeling Paste

Happy Friday! Raise your hand if you keep the tags on clothes you bought. Tags are one of my favorite substrates to use and I have a huge collection.

For the project I used:

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

To start I used TCW9001 White Gesso to cover the print on the tag. I used a palette knife instead of a paint brush. I love the extra texture it leaves behind.

To add that pop of color I mixed White Gesso (TCW9001) and yellow paint together.

Laying the Brocade Stencil (TCW195) on top of the tag, I added the yellow modeling paste (yellow paint plus White Modeling Paste TCW9005). I love the bold color on the white background.

To add more bright color, I used pink acrylic ink to the tag letting it run around the stencil design.

Once the the paint dried I added a beautiful flower and a few words.

What do I do with all the tags I finish? I use them as gift tags, put in my art journal, use them as card fronts, and I’ve even framed them. Do you frame your tags?

If you use TCW Stencils, stamps and mediums in your art, we would love it see it. Please share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
