Rainbow Feather….

Hello creative TCW souls!

Tammy (aka Tambarambaa) here to share my latest creation using Stencil Butters in all the colors of the rainbow, topped with a gorgeous, intricate white feather.

TCW provided me with some amazing goodies to play with, but the art and the opinions are my own.

Look at that gorgeous shimmer!!!!! And I just love a rainbow – makes my heart so happy.

So let’s take a look at how this came together.

I began with some of the TCW9051 Watercolour Paper, I trimmed it in half, and then added washi tape around the edges. This gives me a lovely white, clean border at the end, making the the art pop! It also means I don’t have to be super careful with my background.

I’ve never been great at staying inside the lines! Lol.

I then choose my mediums…… I decided to get out a whole stack of Stencil Butters and I also grabbed the TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste as this would give me a gorgeous white result which would co-ordinate with my border.

The Stencil Butter colors I used are:

  • Crimson
  • Fuchsia
  • Marigold
  • Gamboge
  • Chartreuse
  • Turquoise
  • Ocean Blue
  • Orchid

I began with the first color of the rainbow and move through – I chose red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

I just used a finger to swipe some of the color horizontally across the top of my page. I continued this on until I got to the bottom of the page.

These Stencil Butters are just so creamy – try using your finger – they just glide which makes blending super easy!

An explosion of color and shimmer. I wish the camera would pick up the gorgeous shimmer better.

Let’s try a different angle….

Now I grab that amazing NEW Slimline stencil TCW2330 Patchwork Feather and place it over the top of my rainbow background, holding it in place with some washi tape.

Using a palette knife, I scrape TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste over the stencil. Then simply lift!

Absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes, simple really is best!

Now lift up the washi tape border and drool!

Suddenly I feel like eating an Ice-cream. One of the hazards of working with those creamy rainbow Stencil Butters.

lift up stencil and remove all washi tape. Looks so good!

These photos capture the way this shimmers in the light.

Such a fun, yet effective project, I really hope it has inspired you today.

Don’t forget if anything you see here inspires you, we’d love to know! Also if you share on social media use the #tcwstencillove so we can find it!
