Hello TCW Crafters,
Back again in my art journal today to create a a page using some pretty floral stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop. This page gives me a feeling of the Australian bush in summer…with all the rain we are experiencing here at the moment, perhaps I am channelling some dry summer heat through my art. I hope you enjoy the page!

…here is how the page came together step-by-step…
1 – Paint a new journal page black with TCW9002 – Black Gesso (I do this in two parts in my video but the whole page can be painted at one time). Take TCW971 – Framed Garden and stencil through with Versamark embossing ink and emboss the stencilling with red, yellow and orange embossing powder.
2 – Once dry, use stencil TCW956 – Viney Flowers and stencil through with TCW9001 – White Gesso, only onto the black strips top and bottom. Dry that off and then stencil through a second time with lemon yellow and pale orange.
3 – Add a little white paint pen mark-making. Next add some doodles within the flower silhouettes using red, orange and yellow Posca pens
4 – Add a border of type using Idea-Ology small talk stickers
5 – Finally, using TCW2411 – BLESS this nest, stencil through onto black card, the word BLESS using TCW9067 – Gamboge stencil butter. Fussy cut all the letters out. I changed my “BLESS” to “BLISS” for this page which was easy to do.
6 – Lastly, use double sided foam squares to attach the lettering to the art journal page

I am intrigued with the technique using the embossing inks with the heat gun. Love the stencil you chose TWC971 the line drawings with the stencil viney flowers are so colorful and graceful (Awesome idea). It shows up well on the black background. TY for sharing. I have not been doing mixed media very long, but the more I do the more I love it and absolutely love learning new techniques and learning how to use different mediums.
