Spring Dreaming Art Journal

Spring is almost here and I cannot wait! I’m not much of a flower person to be honest but I love the warmer weather coming in, the sunny days and the idea of spring cleaning to shake off some the crazies built up over the winter months.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

On my double page layout in my sketchbook, I sprayed a variety of Distress Oxide sprays (Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed) through 12×12 TCW962 Bouquet Bliss Stencil.
I rotated the stencil in various directions to frame my focal image. For the bottom edges, I used the ink that was on the stencil to stamp the stencil image over top the focal image to add variety (and to prevent over spraying over top of my image).
On the right side of the layout I applied black acrylic paint with a blending tool through 12×12 TCW968 Summer Meadow Stencil.
I connected some of the lines with a black acrylic paint marker and then added detail with both a yellow paint marker and a yellow gel pen to push back some of the bolder black pieces of the stenciled image.
