Did you hear the EXCITING NEWS? We have NEW STENCILS coming out on February 14th! We’re all so excited over here because we have received ours already and have started creating some beauties for you to ooh and aah over before you get yours!

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Our dear boss, Jaime, decided to challenge us. She asked us to make some simple, yet beautiful cards for you. Uh oh…. WAY out of my comfort zone! You guys know me, I’m the grungy goodness texture queen! Time for me to STRETCH my creative boundaries and hop out of my grungy texture box, ha ha!

The new stencils are GORGEOUS, you’re absolutely going to LOVE them! I chose my two new favorites and decided to show you a quick, easy, and effective background that you could use for pretty much any project, and most certainly for a pretty card. Right, let’s get to it shall we?

To begin I selected my first favorite stencil, the new six inch TCW963 Hanging Vines stencil by Ronda Palazzari. Isn’t it gorgeous? Yes, I know it says hanging vines, but I decided to use it upside down so that it looks like foliage growing up!

Have you ever tried the stacked stencil technique? It’s where you stack different stencils on top of one another and stencil through them all at the same time, then remove one, and stencil with a different color, and so on. That’s what I did next. I added stencil TCW968 Summer Meadow over TCW963 Hanging Vines and taped them down.

I used an ink brush to apply Distress Ink through the stacked stencils using small, circular motions.

I then removed the TCW968 Summer Meadow stencil to reveal the TCW963 Hanging Vines stencil and repeated the same ink technique using Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink.

Next, I used some of our rubber stamps TCW2208 Precious Sentiments by Valentina Harper and I embossed them onto some white card stock using orange and coral embossing powders. I then hand painted them using the ColorSparx powders in Gamboge, Fucshia and Marigold. Lastly, I attached the flowers and sentiment to the card with some copper thread, paper bird and crystal gems.

  2. These flowers are so pretty The stacking of stencils is brilliant and the flowers look so realistic with those embossing powders and colorsparx in all the orange and coral colors
