Cards ~ Be gentle with yourself

Good morning!
I hope you are well and had a chance to relax this weekend. I am still recovering from the plague so I made a quick and easy tutorial on how to make these two cards. These are super simple to make and easy to duplicate.

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

Both cards started the same on A2 heavy cardstock and I used two shades of dye ink (from PinkFresh Studio) for color. I used the TCW414 stencil and used washi tape to hide the other patterns. This will prevent smudging and keep your stencil in place. Color four branches with petals at different heights on the cardstock.

Use a white gel pen and a Micron pen to make marks on the petals.

Use Copic marker (C1 and C3) to make shadows below the petals. This creates depth. Also, stamp your sentiment onto the card. This one comes from TCW2205 Sprinkle Kindness.

Mount this onto a colored card base.

The second card is exactly the same but has a mixed media twist to it. Stencil butter to the rescue!

Use TCW9086 Marigold Stencil butter and outline the petals with a black pen when
it is dried. Add a sentiment of your choice.

I mounted the finished and dried cardstock onto a top-folding card base.

I hope you liked today’s easy card-making lesson! Just by adding marks with Copics, gel pens, or black markers, you can change the feel and add dimension to any flat color.

Talk soon,

Charmaine
