22 For 2022

Happy New Year to all!! Helen here with a fun little mini for the year! I don’t make New Years resolutions, but I did see this 22 for 2022 on Instagram, and thought it would be a perfect little album to sit on my desk to remind me of my creative goals for this year! It was so easy and fun to do!

Finished mini using stencils and sprays... 22 for 2022.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project.

The opinions I share are solely my own.

The Crafter’s Workshop products Used:

To start with, gather some of your favorite stencils…. I used all 6″ x 6″ sizes of TCW946 Petal, TCW948 Framed Flowers, TCW942 Tulip Hexagon  and TCW945 Starflower Net Stencils . Obviously I am tired of the cold weather and want Spring to arrive! LOL!. I also used a couple sheets from TCW9051 Water Color Paper Pack. Just a note: these papers are perfect for the ink sprays I am going to use, they absorb the color perfectly and minimal wrinkling!  I also grabbed some spray inks I have had for forever (and they still work!)

Gather your materials: I used TCW946 Petal, TCW948 Framed Flowers, TCW942 Tulip Hexagon  and TCW945 Starflower Net Stencils Also a couple sheets from TCW9051 Water Color Paper Pack and some spray inks.

The next step is the fun messy part! Start spraying your inks randomly through your stencils over different parts of the paper. Add colors and stencils until you are happy with the results! No wrong way to do this.. just spray and get messy! If you don’t have spray inks, you can use Stencil Butters!!! Just sayin’.

Now the fun starts... use your spray inks (or stencil butters work great too!) through your favorite stencils randomly over the pages until you are happy with the result.
All finished with the inks for now.
I’m happy, and also created some splatters!

Once these 2 sheets have completely dried, I cut them down into pieces measuring about 4.5” x 5”.Then I took the 12” x 12” TCW937 Rows of Lines stencil and taped off a section of lines that would fit over my inked paper. I used a sponge and dabbed TCW9002 Black Gesso over the lines onto my papers. Here’s a hint: Do not smudge your sponge over the stencil as you may getting bleeding under the image, best to dab the sponge over the stencil to get sharp clean lines!

I then cut them down into pieces measuring about 4.5” x 5”. Using the 12” x 12” TCW937 Rows of Lines stencil I taped off a section of lines that would fit over my inked paper. I used a sponge and dabbed TCW9009 Black Gesso over the lines onto my papers.

Once I did 4 sheets with lines, I cut some white cardstock a bit bigger that the finished sheets, folded these in half and made a little journal. I finished it off by adding the inked sheets, adding some thickers to the front for a title, and now it’s time to write those 22 goals for the year!

Cut white cardtoack a bit larger than your inked pages to create a journal to paste your pages onto. Decorate the front and now you have a little 22 for 2022 journal to write down your goals for the year.
Inside of journal!

I do hope you will take a few minutes to play today….

And you have a chance to make a 22 for 2022 journal! Do share with us if you do!
