Cards ~ Stencils and Dies

Good morning!!
Charmaine here with a fun way to stretch your stencils by incorporating them with your dies and stamp sets. Also, mixed media stencils intimidate me at times; here are a few fabulous ways how to use them with your everyday cards.

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

Prepare prints

I started with four pieces of A2 heavy cardstock and taped the stencils with washi tape to the cardstock. (TCW937 Rows of Lines, , TCW938 Mystical Doodles, TCW939 Scattered Branches, TCW940 X Trail ) . I first used the Picket Fence Distress Ink. This will make a shadow on the doodles.

Next, use complimentary distress oxides and stencil butters to complete the prints. ( Gamboge, Fuchsia, Chartreuse, Marigold ) . Off-set the stencils from the white to make it look dimensional.

Remove the stencils and let them dry.

Card 1 with TCW940 X Trail

I used this print as a background for this city scene. I added a white outline and dots with a gel pen to mimic the bright skies. Place the die-cut and sentiment on foam tape. Mount on a top folding A2 card.

Cards 2 and 3 TCW937 and TCW938

I used the one print as another background with a die-cut…from the other card’s die-cut.

The blue goat card is a shaker card. I stacked three layers of black cardstock with the goat in the center.
Add acetate for the window.

Add shakers and adhere the printed background.

The goats on the other card, are attached by Wobbles. It makes the goats vibrate and adds a fun element. The sentiments have been heat embossed with yellow embossing powder.

Cards 4 and 5

These butterfly cards were made by using only a part of this print. This particular die set has 4 layers or dies to make one butterfly. I only used the largest die with the print and then the outline die in gold cardstock. I added a sentiment strip and a stamped sentiment with gold gems to finish these cards.

Card 6 Bonus

Here is another idea. Use a flower die cut with a fun stencil print in the back. This is also a shaker card.

This is my favorite card!

I hope these cards inspired you to use your stencils and dig out your pretty dies to make some cards!
