Art Journal Page – Take Chances

Hello TCW Crafters

Super busy in the @pygletwhispers household this week… as I am sure everyone is at this time of year. Certainly enjoyed jumping into my art journal to get messy with The Crafter’s Workshop products.

” Sometimes you have to take chances… be brave with your life”

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

The Crafter’s Workshop products used within this project:

TCW935 – Secret Garden
TCW940 – X Trail
TCW2314 – Punch Card Slimline Stencil
TCW9002 – Black Gesso
TCW9065 – Fuchsia Stencil Butter

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, or you just don’t have much time…. you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is how the page came together step-by-step…

1 – Begin with TCW935 – Secret Garden sprayed through with Dina Wakley gloss sprays in two different blues. Dry thoroughly.

2 – Next stencil through TCW940 – X Trail diagonally across the page with TCW9002 – Black Gesso.

3 – The third stencil is TCW2314 – Punch Card Slimline Stencil in Dina Wakley Ruby acrylic paint and then again slightly offset with TCW98065 Fuchsia Stencil butter. I really like the pink and red next to each other on the page.

4 – Splatter with some fluorescent yellow paint pen. Add some watercolour pools randomly across the page in deep pinks and purples. Add some blue marks aswell with the watercolour then set the page to the side to dry completely.

5 – Use TCW940 – X Trail again with TCW9002 – Black Gesso and stencil 3 separate black crosses. Stencil through onto each of these crosses a second time using a make up sponge and an embossing ink pad. Sprinkle black or clear embossing powder over the cross and heat to a shine.

6 – Attach all three black shiny crosses to the page with double sided foam tape.

7 – Add some words or a sentiment to the crosses.

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the process video. Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own art journal page using TCW stencils and pastes.

Enjoy!
