I Need My Space Mixed Media Layout

Hello friends! I’m so excited to share this layout with you today. It’s been awhile since I played with my ColorSparx Watercolor Powders. Pair these beautiful powders with the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste and MAGIC happens… I’m going to show you what you can do to create a beautiful, vibrant, textured layout.

Disclaimer: “The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with product to create this layout. The opinions I share are solely my own.”

To begin, I placed the TCW944 Monarch Journal stencil on a piece of cardboard. I did not tape down the ends because I plan on using the ink that is sprayed on the stencil.

Next, I sprinkled the ColorSparx Watercolor Powders TCW9058 AND TCW9057 (Cerulean Blue, Wisteria and Turquoise) all over . You want to be gentle…these powders may not look like they are there, but I can assure you…they are! LOL

Then, I sprayed all over using a water bottle to activate the watercolor powders. WOW…the colors are so vibrant!

Once I was finished with the water, I gently lifted the stencil and then placed the stencil over watercolor paper with the ink face-down on the paper.

Without moving the stencil… I left it on the paper and then covered the entire stencil using the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste with a palette knife. You may want to tape down the stencil… I did not. As you do this, you will pull some of the ink from the stencil and that is what you want to do! This is where the MAGIC happens. 🙂 Once you are finished cover the stencil, gently lift the stencil from the watercolor paper.

The colors and texture is absolutely beautiful! What do you think? I stamped some flowers in black ink and splashed black gesso all over the layout before embellishing it! I used Gel Medium to mount everything down because if you use a tape runner, it will not hold with all the mediums.

Thank you for visiting today!
