Blue Jeans and Stencils Oh My!

Do you have jeans piled in the corner of your room that don’t fit or you just don’t like them anymore? Cut them up! Use them for art projects. This is my first test sample before I use larger pieces of fabric.

I started with a TCW 6×6 Mixed Media board and added some painted paper to it. I used white acrylic paint and added the new slimline stencil TCW2312 Leaf Study to the background. I cut the background paper to be smaller than the board because I wanted the white border. The bottom of the piece wasn’t perfect but I like it that way.

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

I cut my jeans in a small square and added the Leaf Study stencil with TCW9080 Champagne Gold Stencil Butter.

When it dried I cut it out and added to the front of the board. Stencil butter soaks into the fabric a little but I love the texture it now has and you can still see the stencil design.

I just love the way they leaves came out. The dark blue jean material and the gold stencil butter look so nice. I added a few words to the bottom to finish the piece.

My next piece will be a little bit bigger. I’m going to try a little free hand stitching on the next piece. Do you use your blue jeans for your art! Share it with us!!! We would love to see it.

If you use TCW Stencils, stamps and mediums in your art, we would love it see it. Please share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.
