Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I am playing with all NEW stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop and a brand new journal from Eileen Hull! The design team at The Crafter’s Workshop have been asked to help Eileen celebrate her brand new Chapter 4 Sizzix Dies, and she sent us a package of goodies to play with.
You can find Eileen Hull on her website , and on Facebook at Eileen Hull Designs.
She has amazing ideas and awesome videos! (If I can follow them, anyone can!).
Here’s what I created for this week…. It was so fun to do! This “Heartfelt Journal” measures 8 ¾” x 6 ¼” and is just the perfect size for my art note books!

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
The Crafters Workshop Product Used:
To be honest, the first step was the hardest as I wasn’t sure what to use first out of all this goodness from Eileen! Or what gorgeous new stencils The Crafter’s Workshop has!

I decided to use 2 covers, some tags, some closures and gessoed all of these with TCW9001 White Gesso using a brush. I wasn’t sure what I needed for the final look, so I used a few more than I actually needed.

Once that was dry, I covered the outside of the journal covers, both front and back, and the tags with Rose Pink using a brush. While this was still wet, I placed TCW938 Mystic Doodles over the cover and wiped off the pink using a baby wipe. I did this over both covers. I do have the TCW938 Mystic Doodle in a 12 x 12 stencil, but I chose to use the smaller 6”x6” stencil as I wanted smaller images!

I let this dry, then I used a sponge with some Quinacridone rose acrylic paint and dabbed the sponge through TCW941 Rainbow Montage stencil over both covers.

Here it is finished.. for now!

The covers needed a pop of color, so I used some Blue Green acrylic paint and a sponged, and dabbed through TCW 937 Rows of Lines stencil randomly here and there over the covers. I only wanted a few lines, so I taped off a set of them for the dabbing.

I also dabbed some of the green blue acrylic paint over the tags, but you will see that I ended up applying
TCW9001 White Gesso over them all, as they just weren’t working for me.

I then taped off some hexagons from TCW324 Hexagons stencil and sponged
TCW9001 White Gesso over the hexagon shapes. Once the gesso was dry, I reapplied TCW324 Hexagon stencil over the gessoed areas, and stamped some words using archival ink onto the gesso part of the hexagons.

My art book is 8” x 6” and needed some color instead of the plain one it had, so I painted the cover with the blue green acrylic paint, and used a sponge through TCW941 Rainbow Montage stencil. I then splattered black ink over the whole thing, because that’s what I do! LOL! For the main tag for the front of my journal I used TCW9001 White gesso and covered it all, stamped and inked and doodled the edges. I used the word “ART” from TCW261 Art Is stencil and TCW9009 Black Modeling Paste and spread the paste through the stencil with a palette knife.

Now on to assembly! I used TCW9052 Super Thick Gel to adhere my front ART board, a tab on the left side, and some brads on the tab holder on the right side as shown. I used some black stretchy cord to make the journal holders on the inside as shown. I used a rub-on I had with the word imagination and rubbed it onto one of the tags. Also added a metal key. I added my art book, and am set to write all my creative ideas down.

I do hope all this made sense! It was a blast to do! Thanks to TCW for some amazing stencils to work with and to Eileen for allowing me to help celebrate her new products!
