My World – Art Journal page

Happy Wednesday everyone! Do you ever have one of those weeks where you want to just be left alone and live in your own little world? I did this past week! So, to get my frustrations out, I close my studio door, turn up the tunes and art journal! And of course, I used a bunch of my favorite products from The Crafters Workshop!  This always puts me in a better frame of mind!

Finished art journal page using all my favorite TCW products.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project.

The opinions I share are solely my own.

TCW Product Used for this page:

TCW9063 Stencil Butter – Ocean Blue

TCW9065 Stencil Butter Fuchsia

TCW9066 Stencil Butter – Orchid

TCW883 Circle Jumble Stencil

TCW9025  Plastic Palette Knife

TCW9051 Watercolor Paper Pack

TCW9001 White Gesso

TCW2301 Harlequin Slimline Stencil

Ken Oliver Spritz Bottle

TCW9037 Grecian Gold Modeling Paste

TCW2302 Star Sparkle Slimline Stencil

TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium

To start, I wanted to make some planet type shapes, so I grabbed some black cardstock and my favorite Stencil Butter colors… TCW9063 Stencil Butter – Ocean Blue, TCW9065 Stencil Butter Fushia,  TCW9066 Stencil Butter – Orchid and TCW883 Circle Jumble stencil. I used TCW9025 Plastic Palette Knife and spread all 3 colors over the stencil onto the black cardstock. I let this air dry for an hour or so.

Using my 3 favorite stencil butters in Fushia, Orchid and Ocean Blue, I used TCW palette knife and spread these colors through TCW883 Circle Jumbo Stencil onto black cardstock. I let these dry, then cut them out into circle shapes.

Once it dried, I cut out around the circle using scissors! Here’s a close up of the gorgeous stencil butters!  Just yummy! I am getting in a better mood just playing with them.

I then used a half sheet of TCW9051 Watercolor Paper Pack and added some TCW9001 White Gesso using an old credit card over the entire page. Just yummy.

Apply a layer of TCW9001 White Gesso over half a sheet of TCW9051 Watercolor paper using an old credit card.

For the next step, after drying the gesso with a heat gun, I used some Paynes Grey acrylic paint and sponged it through TCW2301 Harlequin Slimline Stencil . I covered the whole page with this.

Apply Payne's grey acrylic paint with a makeup sponge through TCW2301 Harlequin stencil over the entire page.

Using Ken Oliver’s Spritz Bottle, I watered down some blue/green acrylic paint, and applied this over the harlequin stenciled area of my page. I also added some white splatters of ink here and there. (Did you notice my circles in the top right corner…. used those colors first, but had to go back to my faves for this one! LOL!).

Watered down blue/green acrylic paint using Ken Oliver's Spritz bottle, and brushed this over the entire page.

For every night sky, one does need stars, so using TCW9037 Grecian Gold Modeling Paste and TCW2302 Start Sparkle Slimline Stencil; I used TCW plastic palette knife and spread the paste through the stencil randomly over my page.

Now to assemble my page! I used TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium to adhere my cut out stenciled circles to the page. Once these were dried, I used a Black PITT pen to outline and smudge around the circles.

Use TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium to adhere the circles from the first step down randomly on my page.

I added my little guy, some washi and a sentiment. After making this, I was in a much happier place! My desk was messy, there was paint on my hands, and now I can play with all the new stencils I just received from The Crafter’s Workshop! (more about this next time!). Do you feel better after you’ve done some messy play?? Do tell!

I added my little guy, some washi and a sentiment. Finished art journal page!
