Creating a Mixed Media Collage

One of my favorite ways to use stencils is creating collage papers. My favorites are the black and white papers and I used one to start my journal page. To create this mixed media collage I used the following:

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

To start, I added a piece of collage paper with a glue stick. I then added a some blue Script Dots with a paint marker.

Next I added Script Dots with stencil butter. I applied the stencil butter with my fingers.

If you look closely at the picture below you will see cracks in the gesso. To create the cracks, add more of the glue stick to the top of the page, let the glue dry to a tacky touch, and then add gesso on top. When it dries the gesso will crack. It’s a fun technique to use for any art project.

Here is the finished page.

Have you tried using glue and gesso to create crackle? I would like to see it. If you use TCW Stencil in your tag creation we would love it see it. Please share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
