TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the art and opinions are solely mine.

This page happened on a day I was feeling a bit flat, a bit tired and wrung out… you know the feeling I’m sure. I felt I needed some time in my craft space, just for me….. to not think, to just breath and get some paint on my fingers and lose myself in color!

I grabbed my black square Dylusions Art Journal and just opened it up randomly…. there was a background I had begun ages ago, and just wasn’t feeling it….. so I decided this matched my mood perfectly and I’d play with it and see where it wanted to go….

This backgound was created using TCW9001 White Gesso and then some Dylusions sprays spritzed over TCW632 Sweet Posey.

Ok time to change this completely and lose myself in the process….

I began by laying down the honeycomb section of stencil TCW219 Punchinella in random spots and sponging purple paint through it using a makeup sponge.

I then repeated this process using blue paint and TCW2305 Bricks Horizontal Slimline Stencil, moving on to red paint and TCW2307 Concentric Circles Slimline Stencil and then yellow paint and TCW384 Well Rounded Stencil.

Just adding lots of layers and lots of random color.

I also painted on some large circles and arches in a variety of color. As I explained I wasn’t thinking about it, just enjoying the process – I was so lost in the page that I completely forgot to stop and take a process photo! Sorry!

Anyway at this point I had gone a bit nuts with color (but was feeling so much better – lol) so much I needed to pull it altogether – the answer is TCW9002 Black Gesso! I added this again with a makeup sponge through stencil TCW384 Well Rounded – I love all the painterly mark making opportunities this stencil provides!

Lovin that grungy mess!!!!

Now it’s time to add a few more details and flicks of paint – for this I use Life of Colour Paint Pens.

These little details really finish it off!

At this point I absolutely loved it, so I decided to add a quote and a few cut outs from MY very first Art Pack called ‘Bonkers’. This is some of my own hand-drawn faces and scribbles and fave quotes that you can use in your Art Journaling – it’s a download so you just print and go! Then adhere with TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium

There you go, layer upon layer of therapeutic goodness!!

It reminds me of a graffiti wall! Oh the fun you can have with a few stencils and some paint!

quote "when it comes to art it's important not to hide the madness"

My arty plays help me so much – to process, to escape, to fill up again.
