Can Stencil Butters be Used on Plastic?

YES THEY CAN!!!

I love using plastic for journal pages. I use it for the actual page or as some sort of embellishment. Sometimes it’s only a small piece but it gives the pages extra texture. For this journal page I used one stencil: TCW554 Butterfly Collage, Stencil Butters in Orchid, Ocean Blue, Chartreuse, and Gamboge, and TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium.

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

First I use the Butterfly Collage stencil to create a background. I didn’t plan the background. I just grabbed paint and started. Sometimes those are the best backgrounds.

Added the Butterfly Collage stencil to the background.

I took a piece of scrap plastic and added the butterfly to the plastic with Stencil Butters. I believe the plastic was a cover to something. I keep everything. Don’t you?

When the Stencil Butters dried and I cut out the butterfly.

Let me tell you it sticks like glue. I’ve gone down the Stencil Butter rabbit hole and stenciling on any plastic I find. To finish my page I used TCW Matte Gel Medium to attach the butterfly to the page.

Also, you can add water to the Stencil Butters to create fantastic looking splatters on your art. The pop of shimmer is wonderful. You’ve got to try it.

I hope you liked my journal page. Pull out all your plastic and start adding some shimmer of Stencil Butters! I know you want to try it!

If you use Stencil Butter on any plastic, please share it with us. We would love to see it. Share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
