Stiff Joints – An art journal spread

Hello Everyone! Spring is here, the sun is shining, it’s getting warmer and the weeds are growing! After pulling them from my flower gardens, I decided to make this art journal spread to remind me I am getting old! Not that I need any reminders, but sometimes we just need to get those thoughts down in our journals!  I worked in an 8” x 8” journal for this project!

Finished art journal spread in an 8" x 8" journal, using TCW stencils and colorsparx.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Product Used

TCW9001 – White Gesso

TCW905 Leaf Emblem

TCW9025 Plastic Palette Knife

TCW9059 ColorSparx Grasslands

Spritz Bottle

TCW2203 Missing You clear stamps 4” x 6”

To start with, I covered my page with TCW9001 White Gesso using an old credit card. I then used TCW9025 Plastic Palette Knife and TCW Modeling Paste to apply some modeling paste through TCW905 Leaf Emblem to a few areas on my spread as shown. This modeling paste is so thick and creamy and goes on like butter! It dries hard and takes a ton of paints and other mediums when it dries! I let this dry over night so it could set. You can use a heat gun if you are impatient… LOL! (which I usually am!).

Use TCW9001 White Gesso to cover the the whole page, then apply TCW Modeling paste through TCW905 Leaf Emblem stencil in 3 corners of the page.

I then used TCW9059 ColorSparx Grasslands and added a few squirts of the powder randomly over my page. I used TCW Spritz Bottle to spritz water over the pigment. I had my heat gun going during this time, to move the colors around until I was happy with the result.

Spritz some color over the page using TCW9059 ColorSparx Grasslands colors. Spritz with water using TCW Spritz bottle until you are happy with the result.
Lots of yummy colors!

Once I was happy with the result, I used some green archival ink to stamp some leafy vines from TCW2203 Missing You 4×6 clear stamp set to the tops and bottoms of my spread. I colorized the leaves using a green olive PITT pen.

Usine some green archival ink, I stamped some leaves at the top and bottom of the page using TCW2203 Missing You clear stamp set. I colorized the leaves using a green PITT pen.

Time to add my snarky ladies, my snarky sentiments, a few green splatters and of course, some washi tape!  I do hope you get a chance to play with some of these amazing products that The Crafter’s Workshop has!

Add my snarky sentiment, my ladies and some washi tape and splatters to finish the spread.

Thanks for taking the time to see my project for today!

We would love to see your projects made with TCW products!
