Happy Friday! When it’s March I start counting down the days until Spring. Spring is what inspired me to create this piece. I used the following products:
- TCW927 Cactus Dahlia
- TCW658 Jungle Vines
- TCW9061 Chartreuse Stencil Butter
- TCW9062 Lime Stencil Butter
- TCW9067 Gamboge Stencil Butter
- TCW9068 Marigold Stencil Butter
- TCW9009 Black Modeling Paste
- TCW9026 Champagne Gold Modeling Paste
- Grafix Opaque Black Craft Plastic
First I added acrylic paint the my substrate with a brayer. I love using a brayer because it adds texture to the background.
To add the Jungle Vines stencil I mixed together Champagne Gold Modeling Paste and Chartreuse and Lime Stencil Butters.
To add more color to the background I added blue acrylic ink to the lower right hand corner and sprayed it with water.
I decided the green-gold color of the leaves is not what I wanted. I placed the stencil back on and added Lime and Gamboge stencil butters.
Then I spilled purple acrylic ink on my project so instead of thinking it was ruined I just let it dry and continued.
I mixed Champagne Gold Modeling Paste, Gamboge and Marigold stencil butters together to create a gorgeous color.
I used this gorgeous color to add the Cactus Dahlia to my project.
Here is the finished piece.
This piece is only 9×12 but it would look great larger. Like a flowering vine climbing a wall.
