Love Rocks – a TN spread

Hi everyone!  Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!  I do hope you all get chocolates and lots of love this time of year, especially chocolates!  Today I am sharing an art journal spread in my Travelers Notebook. I have a ton of different journals and tend to spread the love around in each of them!

Traveler's Notebook finished spread using acrylic paints, stencil and stamps.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Product Used:

To start off, I used TCW9005 Thick Modeling paste and applied it to the edges of my pages using TCW Plastic Palette knife and the brand new TCW2303 Rock Wall Slimline Stencil. This stencil fits perfectly in my Travelers Notebook and the stencil is perfect for this theme.

Using TCW9005 Thick Modeling paste and a spatula, I applied a layer of modeling paste at the edges of my pages through TCW2303 Rock Wall Slimline Stencil.

I then used TCW9001 White Gesso and applied a layer over my entire spread using a brush.

Using a brush, apply a layer of TCW9001 White Gesso over both pages.

For the next step, I took some acrylic paints in Titan Buff, Burnt Sienna, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Golden and Paynes Grey and first applied a layer of the Titan Buff using a brush, and then started layering the rest of the paint using a wipe, until I was happy with the looks I wanted.

Apply acrylic paints over entire pages and wipe away with baby wipe until happy with the result.
More acrylic paints applied and wiped away with baby wipe.

Once I like the colors blended together, I used some coffee archival ink and applied it using a sponge through the X’s on the TCW889 Dash V stencil. I also sponged some Paynes Grey acrylic paint through the same pattern.

Use coffee colored archival ink and a sponge, to make x marks through TCW889 Dash V stencil in random areas of the spread.

To finish off my spread, I added a few black splatters using some ink, some washi, a photo and a sentiment! Love rocks this month!

Add some black ink spatters, some washi tape, a heart shaped rock photo, and the sentiment... love rocks.

Thanks for taking the time to see my project for today!

We would love to see your projects made with TCW products!
