Card ~ Sunshine and Flowers

Hello!

Charmaine here with a bright and cheery flowery card on a stormy and dreary day. I am using brand new stamps from our latest release.

Precious sentiments TCW2208 stamp set has three beautiful flowers with nine curved sentiments that hug the flowers when placed next to each other. That gave me the inspiration for this card.

TCW provided me with some awesome goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

I stamped the top flower 12 times on heavy white card stock, and fussy cut them all. This was very therapeutic as I just finished a long week at work!

Next, I separated them into 3’s and sprayed them each with a different Dylusions Ink Spray (Pure Sunshine, Lemon Zest, Fiery Sunset, and Peony Blush). I tried to use colors from the same color family.

Wait until the flowers are dry, and then use Copic markers to add shadows to the center of the flowers and where the petals overlap. This will give the flowers some “life” instead of looking flat.

For the flowers’ centers, I used Liquid Pearls to highlight and add dimension to mimic the pistil of a flower.I used White Opal and Silver. I recommend waiting for the dots to dry before placing them right beside each other. They tend to merge if they are too close together. Do this in sessions.

I usually use A2 sized top folding cards for my samples. But for this card, I trimmed the card to accommodate the flowers hanging off the card. This way, the card will still fit into a regular-sized envelope. The card is then 4 x 5 1/4.

Stamp the sentiment and cut along the curvy words. You can silver heat emboss this for a more finished look. Adhere small pieces of foam tape on the back.

Arrange the flowers by color on the card. Place dimensional foam tape on the center flower in the first row and then on the second row’s two outside flowers. Use regular double-sided tape for the remaining “flat” flowers. Repeat for rows 3 and 4. The card should look “fluffy” now!
