Hi all! I’m excited to share a fun mixed media layout I created using the Penny Copper Modeling Paste and the Wild Roses Stencil. I also played with my gel plate from Gel Press to create some fun patterns to frame the photo.

For this layout, my goal was to dig through my stash for embellishments that I would not normally use on a layout and USE them! I must say, this was such a fun challenge for me and after I finished creating this layout, I was proud that I used some of my old stash, rather than reaching for my new product.

To begin, I sprayed the gel plate with some spray ink and placed the white cardstock over the plate, pressing down firmly to soak up the ink. I repeated this process with blue ink to add some blue. Then I used some mixed media crayons by rubbing the crayon onto the gel plate and then smearing water into the crayon to create a pinkish color. Once I was satisfied with the color, I placed the yellow and blue paper over the plate to add some pink.

Next, I used a palette knife to spread the Copper Penny Modeling paste through the Wild Roses stencil.

After the Copper Penny Modeling Paste was completely dry, I cut the paper up into different sized pieces…

Next, I decided I wanted to use the Wild Roses stencil and the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste to create more flowers and texture onto the white cardstock… I thought it make a cool background!

I waited for the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste to completely dry before using the Gel Medium to glue down the pieces I cut out earlier.

Before gluing down everything, I made sure I was happy with the placement of embellishments. I used my Sizzix to create the little flowers and lace border.
