Flower Power art journal page

Hello everyone! I do hope you are enjoying your New Year! It is still cold and snowy in Southern Ontario and I am dreaming of flowers! So what better way to get out of these January blues than to make a flowery art journal spread for today!

Finished art journal page using flower stamps and butter paste.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Products Used:

I decide to first use a sheet of TCW9051 Watercolor paper to start making some flowers. If you have never used this watercolor paper… you have to! It is thick, holds a ton of mediums and doesn’t curl when dried! I added some spots of TCW9055 ColorSparx  Berry Punch randomly over the page and spritzed over these using  TCW Spritz Bottle.

Using TCW watercolor paper, add some spots of ColorSparx Berry Punch randomly over paper and spritz the entire paper with water for desired color wanted.

I spritzed until I was happy with the colors. I set it aside overnight to dry on its own.

Allow the spritzed paper to dry overnight, or use a heat gun to dry.

Once It was dry, I used TCW2208 Precious Sentiments clear stamps and TCW2202 Love You clear stamps and stamped some flower images onto the watercolor paper. I used Versamark and heat set them using some black embossing powder.

Using versamark, I stamped some flowers onto the dried watercolor paper and heat set using black embossing powder. The stamps used were TCW2208 Precious Sentiments and TCW2202 Love you clear stamps.

I then fussy cut out the flowers to use later on my art journal spread.

I decided to use my black Dylusions 8” x 8” art journal for this, and applied a layer of TCW9002 Black Gesso over the entire page using a brush.

Use Black Gesso to cover your art journal page. I used my black Dylusions journal for this.

For the background, I used the TCW904 Petal Burst stencil and TCW9066 Orchid Stencil Butter. I first taped off one of the petal bursts on the stencil and using my TCW9025 Plastic Palette Knife, spread some TCW9066 Orchid Stencil Butter through it and randomly covered over my background.

Applying Orchid Stencil Butter through the Petal Burst stencil using a palette knife.

After those dried, I added some white splatters with white ink and doodled some dots around the petal burst and inside of the stamped flowers.

Using a white paint pen, doodle around the flower bursts and the inside of the stamped images.

I added my little lady with her snarky sentiment and voila! Done.

Finish off the art journal page with a lady image and add the flowers and sentiment.

Thanks for taking the time to see my project for today!

We would love to see your projects made with TCW products!
