BE BOLD canvas

Happy New Year to all! I know that my New Year started off with a surprise box of brand new goodies from The Crafter’s Workshop and I used a lot of them on this project for you today!

Finished canvas using new TCW products.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Product Used: (all NEW, except Gesso!)

(I know that I speak for the rest of the design team here at The Crafter’s Workshop when I say that this is the best company to work with! Their products are amazing, the designs are breathtaking, and the boxes they send are filled with all sorts of goodies! We are going to be having fun for sure in the coming weeks!)

So… today I made an art piece using the 12” x 12” TCW Mixed Media board. I prepared it by first applying a thin layer of TCW9001 White Gesso over it using a brush, as I wasn’t sure where I was going to go with this!

I then took some acrylic paints in magenta, tangerine and lemon and added some spots of this over my board. I then used a baby wipe and blended the colors together until I was happy with the background.

The new slimline stencils are perfect for using on any project you make, not just for cards! Before the acrylic paint was dry, I used the TCW2307 Concentric Circles Slimline stencil and TCW2301 Harlequin Slimline stencil and placed them down over different areas and used a baby wipe to wipe away some of the color; just leaving the white gesso peeking through.

Now comes the fun part… I get to use the brand new Stencil Butters!

(my new favorites I must say!!)

I used the new 12 x 12 TCW933 Joyous Butterfly stencil and placed it to the right hand edge of my mixed media board. I then smeared over the stencil using TCW9025 Plastic Palette Knife and the Stencil Butters in Orchid, Ocean Blue, Turquoise and Chartreuse. These Stencil Butters are so smooth and creamy!

I lifted off the stencil and let it dry overnight. I used Archival ink in Jet Black and Magenta and stamped some random words and confetti over the board in random places using stamps from both of these new stamp sets: TCW2210 Uplifting Sentiments and TCW2205 Sprinkle Kindness.

I used 2 new stamp sets: TCW2210 Uplifting Sentiments and TCW2205 Sprinkle Kindness and archival ink in Jet Black and Magenta to add some random stamping over the board.

I added some splatters using black ink, outlined in black and added my title… Be Bold … which is my quote for the year!

Added some splatters of black ink and a title, Be Bold showing a close-up of the board.
Finished board!
