Art Journal Page – Flowers of Love

Hello TCW friends!

So much fun to try out some new TCW goodies this week. So many wonderfully intricate Valentina stencils and delicious new bright & shimmery stencil butters… so…much…fun!!

– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –

If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is a step-by-step so you can see how the page came together…

1 – I begin in my journal with a page that I had already painted fully black using TCW9002 Black Gesso

2 – My first stencil is TCW927 Cactus Dahlia. I sponge through the stencil with 4 stencil butter choices using a sponge for each color. I like how they show up against the black and these butter are more than capable of being used this way. They end up showing a little shimmery tones.

3 – I next tape down the same stencil and try the stencil butters along with the TCW9025 Plastic Palette knife. I use TCW9064 Turquoise Stencil Butter , TCW9065 Fuchsia Stencil Butter, TCW9066 Orchid Stencil Butter & TCW9067 Gamboge Stencil Butter. I then put the page aside to dry

4 – I then move on and use TCW929 Felicia Daisy and TCW9066 Orchid Stencil Butter and stencil out onto a sheet of TCW9051 Watercolor Paper to create a flower. We will use this later.

5 – Now moving back to the dried page I begin to doodle some dots using a white Sharpie. I grab stencil TCW2186 Choose love and pencil an outline of the word ‘Love’ onto the page. I create dots around the outline to show the word on the page

6 – Next using a sheet of light card I stamp out some flowers using the NEW stamp set TCW2208 Precious Sentiments Clear Stamp. I fussy cut these out to arrange onto my page

7 – I now take the flower we created earlier from TCW929 Felicia Daisy & TCW9066 Orchid Stencil butter and I cut it out and slice down between the petals so they will stand up and display nicely.

8 – I mount all flowers onto the page and complete a little bit of coloring and shading to complete the page

Until next time… have fun creating!
