Stencil Tag Journal – GIFTED

Tag Journal completed using TCW711 Rose Garden

Hi all! Great to be back today with a project for you.

Today, I am making a cute mixed media gift, for an arty friend, using fun stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop. It will be something sweet to contain ephemera and collage bits and pieces when I give them to her. A get better soon card! Watch me whilst I wing my way through a field of flowers making this cute stenciled tag journal

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

The supplies I used on this project:
TCW711 Rose Garden
TCW832 Script Words
TCW922 Ethereal
TCW9052 Super Thick Gel
TCW9057 ColorSparx – Poolside – Cerulean Blue

As always, I have a video, so you can see the project come together quickly. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…and this is how the page came together…

1 – Begin with a few Size 8 shipping tags. As many as you like, I used 16 for this project

2 – Using Ironlak SUGAR spray paint, I spray through stencil TCW711 Rose Garden across all tags

3 – Then with TCW832 Script Words I stencil over all tags with Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic – Night

3 – Next I mixed up TCW9052 Super thick Gel and some TCW9057 ColorSparx – Poolside – Cerulean Blue and stencil though a part of TCW922 Ethereal

4 – Now leaving these to dry completely, I bring back TCW711 Rose Garden. I stencil through this stencil onto a light piece of card with DWM colors – Lemon, Tangerine, Magenta & Blackberry

6 – fussy cut all the flowers out

5 – Once stenciled on one side and cut out, match the flowers upon the reverse of the stencil and stencil through TCW711 Rose Garden again so that the flowers are double-sided

6 – Bind the tags together. You can so this anyway you like. The technique I used, I have been shown by a number of artists but there is a link to a super clear video in my youtube description if you want to seek it out. Otherwise, just google “Tag book binding”

7 – Attach all the stenciled flowers to the edges of the tag journal to create pretty flowery edges. Add some ribbons.

8 – I left some spaces behind each of the flowers so I could slide some ephemera in to gift to my friend, but money, gift cards or any other small papery gifts could be added in when you gift it.

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the video. Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own page or gift tag journal using TCW711 Rose Garden or one of the other great stencils I have used today.

Until next time… have fun!
