“Little Red Riding Hood” Mixed Media Art Journal

Hello crafty friends,

Marie-Christine with you today! I will take you for a walk in the woods, we will meet this nice little girl who is going to see her grandmother. But be careful, the big bad wolf is watching! Are you going to find him?

I used several stencils to illustrate this tale, TCW361 Tiny Circles, TCW5036 Flower Field, TCW517 Sunlit Forest, TCW518 Evergreens, TCW578 Whimsical Shrooms.

Little Red Riding Hood”

I start by making the background with yellow and green Distress Oxide. I spray some water on it for a watercolor effect. I chose TCW517 Sunlit Forest to do the woods.

I use Distress Oxide ink ( Green, brown and pink) with the stencil. I fill out the page on the top.

I make a carpet of flowers at the bottom of the page with TCW5036 Flower Field and TCW9004 Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste.

When the texture paste is dry, I apply color with watercolor paint.

I add a small strip of gray dots with TCW361 Tiny Circles to separate the two parts.

I make the fir and mushroom embellishments with TCW518 Evergreens, TCW578 Whimsical Shrooms and TCW9004 Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste. After drying, I color them with watercolor paint and cut them out.

When I have an idea in my head, like Little Red Riding Hood here, I first select the stencils that are likely to suit the theme, then I look for vintage images on Pinterest, in magazines or scrapbooking paper or I use stamps.

I am looking for the right place for my embellishments on the page. I cut out vintage images I found on Pinterest. I adhere everything on the page.

Did you find the wolf?

Here is the result, thanks for stopping by today, I hope my tutorial inspired you! Do not hesitate to leave me a small comment, thank you!
