Spider Cider Halloween Art Journal Page

Spider Cider Halloween Art Journal Page by Renae Davis

Halloween is not a holiday I tend to celebrate but it’s still one of my favorite because the decorations alone are entirely different from the rest of the year. It’s not a pretty season but it is a fun one! Plus, I have to this amazing web stencil for something right? Or ten. Or twenty. Join me in my first halloween art journal for this season.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For the chalky black background, I covered the entire two journal pages with TCW9002 Black Gesso.

For the second layer, I added diluted white acrylic paint with a brayer. I added a thin line of acrylic paint onto the glass mat and a few spritz of water before rolling the brayer in the solution. This is great way to get a spooky distressed look for any project!

I drew through TCW877 Spider’s Web Stencil with a white paint marker and then colored in the web lines.

The rest of the page was just adding some window clings and stickers I found at the Dollar Store. (You need a really good glue stick to stick them down with like Scotch’s Permanent glue sticks.)

At the top of the page, I used Golden High Flow Acrylic in white and teal to add some drippings down the page for extra spookiness.
