Art… Glorious Art!

Today I created a quick background for an art chick that I drew in another journal page a while back. I like to sometimes collage in old illustrations that I rediscover and today this chicken wanted to come and play!

– The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own –

I used a number of stencils and pastes to create my page

• TCW855 – Linked Tiles
• TCW632 – Sweet Posey
• TCW832 – Script Words
• TCW886 – Shape Landscape (12×12 & 6×6)
• TCW9043 – Marcasite Silver Modeling Paste
• TCW9041 – Platinum Modeling Paste
• TCW9011 – Matte Gel Medium

…here is the step-by-step…

1 – Begin with some Dina Wakley Media turquoise acrylic paint randomly painted across the journal page. Using a wet wipe to rub away some paint through stencil TCW855 – Linked Tiles

2 – Next, using DWM – Heather stencil through TCW632 – Sweet Posey a few different locations around the page

3 – With TCW832 – Script Words and using firstly TCW9043 – Marcasite Silver Modeling Paste, spread though randomly over the page

4 – Once the paste is somewhat dry, align the stencil back where it was and then stencil though adjacent to the dark silver modeling paste with the TCW9041 – Platinum Modeling Paste to create a two-toned effect.

5 – Dry off the modeling paste

6 – Using TCW886 – Shaped Landscape in 12×12 size spray through with some DWM gloss spray in Eggplant to create some dots around the page. Using the same stencil but in the smaller 6×6 size stencil through with DWM – Night

7 – Use DWM Lime gloss spray to splatter and drip paint onto the page

8 – Using a cut-out of my previously photocopied illustration I adhered the paper to the page using TCW9011 – Matte Gel Medium

9 – Using watered down acrylics I singled out the two words “art” & “glorious” and made small speech bubbles around them.

10 – Some mark-making, pencil work and gel pen lines finish off the page
