Using Bleach with TCW Stencils

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I’m going to show you how to use bleach with TCW stencils. It’s such a fun, smelling technique. Please make sure you are in a well-ventilated room or do it outside. First, these are the stencils I used. You can them all for this technique.

To start, I added bleach and water to a spray bottle. I used 50% bleach, 50% water but I think next time I’ll do 60/40. I created a tag out of a pair of old jeans, sprayed the mixture through the stencil, and immediately pulled it off.

The Crafters Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

When it dried you can see the stencil designed. I do believe I need more bleach than water so I’ll be trying this again.

I continued the same technique on black paper. The bleach turned the black into a rust color.

To add a little color, I used color pencils, markers, and watercolors. Using the Tropical Fronds stencil I even cut out one of the leaves to have for future use.

Here are my results.

This was so much fun. I’m trying to use left over fabric I have piling up in my art room so I’ll be bleaching everything in site.

I hope you try using bleach and share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
