“Today” Mixed Media Art Journal

Hello Crafty Friends,

Marie-Christine with you today with a very flowery Art Journal page. I really like doing a page layout using three stencils. Here, I chose two flower stencils TCW863 Sunflower Meadow and TCW911 Sweet Berries as well as a TCW882 Fantasy Tile background stencil.

I start by making my background with three Distress Oxide colors .

Distress Oxide Background

I spray a little water very often on my Distress inks, so that the colors are softer and mix with each other. It gives a watercolor effect to my backgrounds.

Then I use TCW911 Sweet Berries with green and red Distress ink at the top of my page.

You can see the watercolor effect after spraying a little water.

I continue with TCW882 Fantasy Tile on the right side, I use a tone on tone Distress Oxide ink.

Now I add texture with TCW863 Sunflower Meadow and TCW9005 White Modeling Paste. Once dry, I add colors with watercolor paints.

I stamp some leaves and I adhere my vintage image (See on my Pinterest) at the bottom right of my page with TCW9006 Gel Medium Gloss.

Then, I do some white spots with a brush and TCW9001 White Gesso. I add my title “Today” at the top with a stamp.

Here is the result, thanks for stopping by today, I hope my tutorial inspired you! Do not hesitate to leave me a small comment, thank you!
