Hello all my crafty friends! Helen here with my very first post as a new Design Team member here at The Crafter’s Workshop! I am beyond thrilled to be able to share a little art journal spread I made for today using some of my stash of The Crafter’s Workshop stencils. I do love texture and snark… and this one is dedicated to all my new team mates and new friends!

I started in my 8”x 8” Dylusion journal and applied a thin layer of White Gesso using a paint brush. I usually gesso my pages first, as it helps my other layers adhere and spread easier! I then used a palette knife to add a layer modeling paste to the bottom using TCW357 Cell Theory stencil; and in the upper corners using TCW459 Harlequin Circles stencil. (Notice that red from a previous project… oops!!! No worries… it will disappear!)

Once this dried, I then painted over the whole page using Titan Buff with a paint brush. After, I added a layer of watered down Burnt Sienna using a paint brush and wiped away some areas in the centre using a baby wipe.

I added some shading to TCW Harlequin Circle bottom areas using a black Stabilo-ALL pencil and a blending stump tool.

Wanting the TCW357 Cell Theory cells to stand out, I added some Raw Umber over to represent some cobblestones for my little guys to stand upon. I used a paint brush and baby wipe for this section.

Some black and red spatters of inks from some ink spray bottles were added, my little guys, and finally a computer generated sentiment!

Thanks for taking the time to see my project for today!
