A Quiet Place | Art Journal Page

Hey there arty friends! Thank you for joining me today for another art journal page. The Second last for the design team in fact. It’s a bit of a emotional one for me, since I enjoyed creating content for this blog so much, it’s almost become a part of me. But I will still be around doing my thing, and you all will enjoy the new creative energy that will come with new faces 🙂

Photo of the completed page as a sneak peak of what is to come.

TCW Provided me with some goodies to play with, but the opinions and creations are my own.

I have a full process video for you below on how this page is made, please note that the drawing will be included in the video but isn’t really relevant to this blog post:

To start this page off, I used some soft pastel colors, white, blue and pink and brayered in on the page to get a random color spread all over both pages.

Soft pastel color background in pink and blue.

Next I want to do some stenciling. For this I used TCW804 – Mesh Blocks , one of my favorite stencils to create some texture in the background.

Mesh stencil added in blushing pink to the background to the left side of the page.

I want to add even more stenciling to the background, and I will use TCW899 – Striped Mandala with a darker blue paint.

Adding blue stencil pattern added in striped mandala to make the background pop.

For the foreground, I will create some finger painting flowers and do some scribbling in the wet paint with a stabilo all black pencil. (The drawing process is available in the video)

Hand painted girl added in white gesso and pencil and also pink flowers in a field

I Love how this is coming together. To finish this one off, I want to add more color to the background, and fade out some of the stenciling that makes it so busy without taking it all away. I use paint and spread it around with my finger.

More paint added to the background in a patchy style to blend the stencling towards the background.

Super happy with this, I will just finish the page by adding some journaling.

Finished page with journaling added.

Hope you guys had lots of fun following along with me. It’s a pretty easy one today if you don’t include the drawing.

Thanks for joining me today 🙂
