Nature’s Circuitry | Art Journal Page

Hi Crafty friends, today I bring some art journal inspiration.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I have a full process video to view below:

To start off my project today, I am working in my Dyalog journal, nice size travel style journal.

To this I am going to add some torn up gelli printed papers I have made long ago. The stencil pattern I will use for my gelli prints are mostly TCW834 – Stone Increase. I adhere the torn up pieces using TCW Matte gel Medium.

Next I take some TCW White gesso and apply it liberally with a pallet knife.

Adding Gesso or white paint will make the page look more blended.

Lets add some more color by dropping on some Golden fluid acrylics, and mushing it around. I like to do this in wet gesso so it all dries and mixes together.

Love the nice vibrant colors.

Now on a separate paper, I use stencil TCW 925 – Nature’s Circuitry with TCW Black Gesso to create some ephemera.

When these are dry you can cut them out. Using TCW Matt gel medium, adhere them to the page.

Use very little paint on a sponge to get a crisp image.

Next I add more of the stencil TCW 925 – Nature’s Circuitry in the background, using Marine blue color.

Try using a contrasting color to make it pop.

This background is looking nice and full now and I am happy with it.

I have a prima stencil that I have never used before, and really like this girl, so I decided to use her today. Called Ester. I stamp her out using archival ink, then color her using copic marker. When I am done I cut her out and adhere to the page.

Almost done. Final touches now. I add some journaling using a white gelly roller and some phrases from the Tim Holtz collection.

Adding journaling can be a poem, a prayer, feelings or a phrase you saw somewhere.

Thanks for joining me today.

Till next time friends 🙂
