Big Hugs – Some Tag Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Robyn here, sharing a bright and happy tag to help you bring some colour to a friend’s day.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Did you know that The Crafters Workshop has a range of different stencils aimed at cake decorators? They also make wonderful stencils for your craft projects! I decided to use one for this project.

Cling wrap background with spray inks

Start your tag by spritzing with spray inks, the brand and colours don’t matter but the brighter the better. While the ink is still wet, cover with some cling film. Bubble wrap or soft plastic will also work. Allow the tag to dry fully and when you lift the film, you will find a wonderful abstract pattern.

Add a strip of patterned paper offcut in a neutral pattern. This breaks up the pop of colour a touch.

Sponge tag with Distress Inks in colours that match background

Place the TCW5007 Harlequin stencil over one of the corners and ink with Distress Ink using a stencilling brush. I’ve used colours that tone with the sprayed background.

Move the stencil to another area of the tag and repeat. Depending on the size of the tag you will only need to stencil two or three sections.

Add a stamped flower stem, layered greeting and some bright fibres to finish it off.

Supplies:

  • TCW5007 Harlequin
  • Distress Inks and Sprays
  • Darkroom Door Tall Flowers & Warm Wishes stamp sets
  • Cling film

Thanks so much for joining me, I hope my tag gives you some inspiration for sharing a smile with a friend!

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook Page, Instagram and Pinterest using hashtag #stencillove
